Title: DESCO opts for GP Business Solutions (2006-03-17)
GrameenPhone Ltd has recently signed an agreement with Dhaka Electric Supply Company Ltd (DESCO) to provide complete communications facilities under its Business Solutions package. Comprising of modern mobile telecommunications services for any business needs, the GP Business Solutions provides voice, text messaging and mobile data and Internet services. Also on offer will be a complete mobile-office solution, including mobile email, mobile high-speed data access, internet access, mobile fax and more, providing the freedom to work from anywhere within GrameenPhone’s wide coverage area.
Title: Pre-paid Metering Pilot Project in DESCO (2005-06-12)
DESCO introduces pre paid meter project. Under this pre paid pilot metering project DESCO will install 5,000 units BUET designed single phase, 230V, 10(60) Amps solid state type pre paid meters. BRTC, BUET will be responsible to design, manufacture, supply, test and commissioning of the prepayment energy meters, one System Master Station (SMS), two Vending Stations (VS) and accessories on turn key basis. The project will be undertaken to initially cover the consumers residing in Sector 4 & 6 under Uttara Model Town, Dhaka.
